Claremont Fiber Health & Safety Manager

Job Summary

Develop, execute, and maintain health and safety programs and policies for the Fiber manufacturing site to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations. Provide daily leadership to the site HSE Lead, drive behavioral safety processes, and lead investigations into serious incidents while facilitating root cause analysis and corrective actions. Conduct internal and external audits, participate in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification efforts, and oversee the site's occupational health clinic. Collaborate with regional forums and cross-functional managers to share best practices and ensure adherence to Process Safety Management standards. Available to respond to medical treatment injuries and serious incidents outside regular working hours. Requires a Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, 8+ years of H&S experience, and OSHA/Psm certification.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, or other related field
  • 8 plus years of direct H&S experience including OSHA compliance, behavior-based safety, process hazard and risk analysis, root cause evaluation, incident management, standards and procedural development, auditing, and training
  • 3 plus years' experience in Cable or Fiber manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of US health and safety regulations (OSHA)
  • Knowledge of worker's compensation regulations
  • Strong organizational & planning skills
  • Excellent analytical skills & problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with technology such as Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other standard computer applications
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (oral & written), able to interact with all levels in the organization
  • Ability to work independently and drive sustainable change
  • Available to respond to site for medical treatment injuries and serious incidents outside regular working hours
  • Ability to travel periodically for meetings and participation in other site audits
  • This is a site level role (not remote)

Desired Qualifications

  • CSP Certification preferred
  • Knowledge and Experience with ISO Management Systems strongly preferred
  • Experience with OSHA PSM Standard strongly preferred
