Job Summary
Automation Manager responsible for planning and directing the automation team providing PLC- and HMI-based control-system support for projects that improve safety, productivity, quality, and production capacity, and for assisting with advanced troubleshooting of equipment used to manufacture optical fiber. Direct supervision and development of automation engineers and technicians. Coordinate with Operations, Process Engineering, Maintenance, and R&D to prioritize automation work, recruit and develop team resources, and communicate project status; identify capital needs and drive safety, health, and environmental culture within the team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 5 years experience working with automation / control systems
- Results-driven, dynamic manufacturing environment experience
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Ability to prioritize projects in alignment with plant goals
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Familiarity with control system architectures, equipment, and communication protocols
- Experience with PLCs and HMIs
