Job Summary
Manage a caseload of Excess claims across multiple states, determining contractual obligations, conducting coverage analysis, and investigating complex liability issues. Develop legal strategies with defense counsel, draft coverage letters including reservation of rights, and present findings to the Claims Committee. Establish and maintain loss and expense reserves, identify cases for resolution or trial, and supervise independent adjusters, investigators, and attorneys. Comply with treaty reporting requirements and unfair claim practices statutes while adhering to company procedures. Participate in broker relations, mediations, and trials as needed. Requires 10-12+ years of E&S claims experience with up to 10% travel. Hybrid work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- 10-12+ years of complex general liability insurance claims handling experience preferably in the E&S market particularly focused on handling excess claims
- Up to 10 % travel
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred (or equivalent work experience)
