Job Summary
Claims Specialist handles complex California workers' compensation claims, communicates with policyholders, agents, attorneys, and witnesses to deliver outstanding service, investigates claims to determine exposure, guides resolution through mediation/negotiation/denial/litigation, manages reserves, and coordinates with defense counsel while ensuring compliance with state rules and internal policies. This role requires collaboration across departments, mentorship for less experienced team members, data accuracy in claims systems, and ongoing professional development in claims law and practice within ICW Group's California claims operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) preferred
- WCCA preferred
- WCCP preferred
- State Workers' Compensation License required in some branches
