Claims Specialist

Job Summary
Execute end-to-end claims management by evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting policy wordings to determine coverage for losses; input new loss information into the claims system to initiate cases; advocate for the insured throughout settlement to maximize client satisfaction; proactively manage all claims to resolution using an effective abeyance system; maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance; respond promptly to inquiries via phone and email with timely status updates; analyze claims data for trends to support risk mitigation; prepare comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders; actively participate in meetings, mediations, and settlement conferences to support outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a claims role
- Experience in Commercial Insurance
- Completed Post-Secondary education in a related field of study (college or university level)
- Interpersonal, strong communication and active listening skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Deep understanding of insurance claims negotiation and settlement techniques
