Job Summary
Develop strategy, initiatives, and processes to achieve organizational goals, including profitability, severity, and expense management for the Auto claims business. Enforce organizational policies and ensure all claims meet quality and regulatory requirements by regularly reviewing files, monitoring audits, and implementing corrective actions. Manage the Claims Business Unit budget, cost controls, and staffing while mentoring leadership teams and driving continuous service improvements. Establish cross-functional relationships with executive staff and regional managers to support unit-level strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Obtainment of industry related designations (CPCU, SCLA, AIC)
- Participation in management related course study
- 8+ years Claims and prior experience leading leaders
- Advanced oral and written communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of policy application in claims
- Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office software including; Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Previously demonstrated comprehensive level of claims management skill
- Advanced leadership/management skills
- Advanced organization skills and previously demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and assignments
- Advanced knowledge of the processes required to prepare and analyze financial reports, develop cost-benefit models and create detailed written proposals/recommendations
- Valid Driver's License
- Acceptable Department of Motor Vehicles record
- Minimum liability insurance - Issued by State
- Occasional travel to off-site business meetings or conferences (5% proficiency)
