Job Summary
Oversee the company's Casualty and Workers' Compensation claims, providing post-loss reduction recommendations regarding salvage, subrogation, rehabilitation, and loss control. Manage accountabilities for claim reporting, investigation, litigation, and resolution while coordinating with third-party administrators for self-insured retention cases. Build and maintain relationships with claims adjusters, insurers, legal counsel, and business unit safety and HR staff. Develop claim metrics on frequency, severity, and root cause to identify trends for management communication and establish performance benchmarks. Coordinate with safety loss control and quality assurance teams to discuss emerging exposures and ensure appropriate safety procedures are practiced through training and policy adherence. This individual contributor role focuses on Workers' Compensation, General/Product Liability, and Auto Liability lines, requiring strong investigative, analytic, and negotiating skills within a global food provider environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in high-deductible workers' compensation programs
- Working/general knowledge of pertinent federal/state regulations including labor, Americans with Disabilities Act, OSHA, Medicare, etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in related field
- BA/BS or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years' experience in high-deductible workers' compensation programs, preferably in jurisdictions including Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, South Carolina, Mississippi, California, Utah, Indiana, and Maryland
- Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite Products
- Strong working knowledge of insurance coverage for property/causality lines
- Experienced investigative, analytic, and negotiating skills
