Job Summary

Handle claims cradle to grave on a delegated and non-delegated basis, ensuring an exceptional service level for every client. Review and challenge insurer decisions on liability while managing phone calls and correspondence efficiently. Build relationships with insurers, suppliers, and clients, acting as the primary contact for certain accounts and supporting the team through knowledge sharing and coaching. Maintain full compliance with GDPR, FCA standards, and the Bribery Act, ensuring all records are accurately filed. Keep up-to-date with new products, markets, and regulatory changes through continuous professional development.

Required Qualifications

  • 2 years' experience in providing specialist advice in the insurance market
  • Cert CII qualification (or ability to gain it within 18 months of joining)
  • Working knowledge of all the main classes of General Insurance
  • Working knowledge of GDPR
  • Working knowledge of FCA / FOS
  • Working knowledge of the CII's Code of Ethics
  • Working knowledge of Howden product range
  • Working knowledge of policy wordings
  • Working knowledge of service standards
  • Good literacy and numeracy (minimum of C or equivalent in English and Maths)
  • Ability to gather and analyse information from the client
  • Ability to identify and respond appropriately to an individual client's level of understanding
  • Ability to persuade and influence others
  • Office based location
  • Regular travel for Clients/Insurer visits
  • Regular travel for Off-site training
  • Regular travel for Division and Team events
  • Regular travel for Other internal/external meetings
  • Adherence to the principles set by the FCA
  • Adherence to Howden Private Client service standards and procedures
  • Adherence to accepted good market practice
  • Adherence to the CII Code of Ethics
  • Working in the best interests of the Client at all times
  • Compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations
  • Accurate recording and filing of records and communications with Clients
  • Compliance with the Bribery Act 2010
  • Compliance with applicable sanctions
  • Compliance with anti-money laundering regulations
