Job Summary
Responsible for the resolution of moderate complexity first-party property claims across multiple jurisdictions. Handles reserves within authority, reviews policies to confirm coverage, analyzes coverage positions, and drafts coverage position letters. Utilizes investigation techniques to evaluate loss facts and damages, coordinates investigations, and determines insured exposure. Sets or recommends reserve changes, uses the diary system to ensure timely processing and closure, negotiates settlements with claimants, and identifies subrogation opportunities and fraud potential. Prepares reports, supports special projects, and may travel to industry conferences or meetings. Requires strong customer service, analytical, and communication skills, and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; two+ years of claims handling experience; US work authorization; and preferred certifications (INS, IEA, AIC, ARM, SCLA, CPCU). Must be capable of independent coverage analysis and timely decision-making within authority. Candidate should be prepared to participate in ongoing professional development and collaborate within a team environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Two+ years of claims handling experience
- US Work Authorization required
