Job Summary
Resolves claims by investigating losses through collecting and analyzing data according to policy application and client/underwriter guidelines. Responsibilities include determining insurance coverage by examining claim information and interviewing claimants, maintaining and updating records, resolving questionable claims through investigation, settling claims by assessing liability, coordinating benefits with other carriers when possible, providing prompt phone support, and contributing to team objectives. Requires strong written/verbal communication, organizational and analytical abilities, and proficient use of Microsoft Office; involves compliance with claims guidelines and ongoing professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School or GED
- Experience: 2 years relevant and progressive claims or insurance experience
- Good written and verbal communication skills with confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
- Good organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
