Claims Director, Casualty and Litigation

Job Summary
Direct all activities of the claims unit through effective leadership and training of adjusting staff to ensure service and quality objectives are met. Drive the development and execution of corporate and regional business plans while enhancing workflow and operational procedures. Manage disposition programs including settlement conferences, mediation, and internal committee file reviews, and direct defense counsel to ensure compliance with litigation best practices. Monitor large and complex losses, providing coaching and direction to drive strategy. Support the development and implementation of best practices and departmental strategies to achieve regional goals for customer service, productivity, and quality.
Required Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Education in an Insurance focused program or related program
- Completed or working towards the CIP designation
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the property and casualty industry handling complex claims
- A minimum of 5-7 years of demonstrated leadership experience
- Strong technical skills with MS Office Suite
- Ability to clearly communicate with Claimants, Brokers, and Legal Counsel
