Job Summary
In-house Claims Counsel responsible for managing claims portfolio across automobile personal injury, CGL, property damage, workers' comp and other corporate litigation; oversees intake, evaluation, investigation, and resolution; advises leadership on legal risks and potential business impacts; drafts litigation holds; coordinates with insurers and outside counsel to staff outside counsel; provides strategic direction on case handling, including defense strategy, budgeting, and resolution objectives; develops and enforces reporting guidelines and deadlines; coordinates employee participation in fact investigation, discovery, and deposition preparation; supports training and compliance initiatives related to incident reporting, safety, and claims prevention; creates in-house training on legal risks and potential business impacts; maintains efficient claim files and state law databases; participates in insurance renewals; on-site in Mechanicsburg, PA.
Required Qualifications
- JD degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and in good standing or admitted to practice within a reciprocity state and in good standing
- Minimum of 7 years substantive litigation and/or claims experience with a corporate legal department or law firm handling claims matters before federal courts, state courts, and administrative agencies
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future employer-sponsored work authorization
- The company does not and will not sponsor employment visas
- Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills
- Analytical mindset with attention to details
- Excellent verbal and written communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple claims and priorities simultaneously in a high-volume environment
- Team player, cross-functional collaboration
