Job Summary
Claims Counsel will investigate, evaluate, and determine coverage and possible claim resolutions for title insurance matters. Responsibilities include determining the need to retain outside counsel, managing claims and/or litigation to final resolution, negotiating with claimants/opposing counsel/third parties, participating in mediations and court appearances, reviewing invoices for costs and attorneys' fees, and maintaining documentation of claim file activity. Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in title insurance or related litigation, strong verbal and written communication, detail orientation, and proficiency with Word, Outlook, and Excel. Must be licensed in good standing in any jurisdiction. Remote work is available, with Maitland, FL as an in-office location option; the role is full-time and operates in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed and in good standing (any jurisdiction is acceptable)
- 3 - 5 years experience in title insurance or related field or litigation experience is preferred
- Basic knowledge of real property and insurance law
- Advanced proficiency in Word, Outlook, & Excel
- Must be detail oriented and have strong communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced team oriented environment
