Job Summary
Claims Associate role supporting either Workers’ Compensation or Auto & General Liability desks; responsibilities include receiving claim assignments, reviewing policy information for investigation, interviewing insureds/claimants/witnesses, evaluating liability and reserves, preparing investigation and settlement reports, communicating denials, and assisting with trial preparation. Licensing support is provided and the position offers development-focused training with collaboration under a Team Leader across the full claims lifecycle from intake through settlement; requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree (or equivalent experience) and proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook; strong analytical, communication, and customer-focused skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent professional experience
- Basic knowledge of insurance industry concepts, claims handling practices, and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Customer-focused mindset with a sense of urgency and responsiveness
- Strong communication skills—able to listen effectively and express opinions and concerns diplomatically with team members
- Licensing note: an applicable resident or designated home state adjuster’s license is required for field claims adjusters
