Job Summary
Claims Associate focusing on Workers’ Compensation in a fast-paced insurance claims environment. Responsibilities include reviewing claim and policy information, interviewing insureds, claimants, witnesses, physicians, attorneys, and other parties to gather necessary information; evaluating investigation findings to determine liability and company obligation; preparing reports on investigations, settlements, denials, and evaluations; setting reserves within authority limits; reviewing progress with the Team Leader; escalating unusual exposures; assisting in developing methods for claims handling; settling claims, obtaining releases and proofs of loss, and issuing drafts; communicating denials to claimants or attorneys; supporting trial preparation and participating in claims file reviews and audits; administering benefits to minimize exposure. Required skills include strong analytical and communication abilities, proficiency with Word/Excel/Outlook, and a high school diploma (Bachelor’s degree a plus). Licensing support for adjusters is provided by the employer.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree a plus
- Licensing Note: An applicable resident or designated home state adjuster’s license is required for field claims adjusters. Our customer supports independent self-study and allows up to four months to pass the adjuster licensing exam.
