Job Summary
Process payments, calculate wage statements within 14 days, and maintain ongoing diaries for timely benefit disbursements. Complete two-point contacts on indemnity claims by calling treating physicians and employers to determine work status and wage loss. Record injury details, manage autopay systems, and prepare settlement packages or permanent disability reports per guidelines. Handle reimbursement requests, respond to inquiries, and complete daily time sheets while maintaining accurate notepads. Work from home up to two days per week with a commutable distance to the Granite Bay office.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Basic computer skills required to complete assigned tasks within claims system, Excel, Word, and other standard office programs and be able to learn and implement specialty software systems and procedures
- Be responsible for protection of patron confidentiality
- Work with keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Solve problems and properly calculate benefits using mathematics; identify appropriate solutions using logic and reasoning
- Gather facts using verbal, non-verbal (active listening) and other human relations skills
- Manage multiple simultaneous projects; working independently in a multi-tasking office setting
- Handle multiple activities or interruptions at once and to work positively and effectively within a team or self-directed model
- Must be located a commutable distance to the Granite Bay office
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Claims Clerk, Claims Assistant, or similar role
- Passed the I.E.A. or The Institutes CA 10 and medical terminology course
- General knowledge of basic W.C.
