Job Summary
Investigate, adjust, and resolve property and casualty claims and low complexity lawsuits while monitoring outside adjustments for municipal government liability exposures. Document claim files with notes and evaluations, review medical reports for settlement decisions, and determine claim value ranges to obtain settlement authority. Analyze case law, perform coverage analysis on lawsuits, and present claims to the Board of Directors. Occasionally train members in exposure-based risk management and claims. This role requires a Washington resident to work Monday through Friday, with limited day and overnight travel.
Required Qualifications
- Resident of the state of Washington
- Occasional office hours in Tukwila, WA
- Limited day and overnight travel
- BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience
- Ability to read, comprehend, and analyze case law and apply to open files
- Ability to review lawsuits and perform coverage analysis
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong organization skills and the ability to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Public speaking skills, presenting claims to a Board of Directors and occasionally training members in exposure based risk management and claims
Desired Qualifications
- One year casualty/bodily injury adjusting with some litigated claim handling
