Job Summary
Examine claim forms and records to determine appropriate insurance coverage and calculate payments within prescribed monetary limits. Analyze investigation findings to evaluate claims, assess loss extent, and settle claims while ensuring liability releases are obtained. Draft and issue claim payments in compliance with state laws, policies, and company procedures. This role requires an Adjuster License, 0-3 years of experience, and bilingual Spanish skills. Markel, a Fortune 500 insurance holding company, offers a return-to-work schedule of three days in the office every other week.
Required Qualifications
- Basic Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer)
- Typing of 45 wpm
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good time management and organizational skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Adjuster License
- 0-3 years of claims adjusting experience
- US Work Authorization
- Knowledge of claims adjusting
- Bilingual in Spanish
