Job Summary
Respond to customer inquiries, initiate investigations, and resolve claims by gathering necessary information and explaining policy coverage. Manage an inventory of claims, establish initial reserves, and coordinate vehicle repairs and rental reimbursement. Recognize recovery opportunities for subrogation and salvage, negotiate settlements with claimants and attorneys, and ensure compliance with state regulations. Provide input for claims guidelines and oversee outside investigative service providers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial cargo claims
- ideally tractor trailer
- some dealings with Third-Party PD/Total Loss
- Active adjuster license
- resident state license
- Designated Home State (DHS) license
- Knowledge of state regulations
- Knowledge of policy provisions
- Knowledge of standard operating procedures
- Commercial experience
- Ability to analyze and evaluate claims data
- Ability to make sound decisions based on established guidelines
- Ability to make sound decisions based on policies
- Ability to make sound decisions based on procedures
