Job Summary
The role investigates, evaluates, negotiates, and resolves workers’ compensation claims within settlement and reserving authority. It includes administering indemnity and medical benefits, developing litigation plans with defense counsel, mentoring less experienced staff, conducting training, and coordinating with insureds, injured workers, agents, and underwriters. The position requires staying current on state laws and company procedures, traveling as needed to handle claims across states, and contributing to claims management strategies and quality file maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- Three years of workers’ compensation lost time claim handling experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Strong attention to detail and strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Adaptable/flexible and self-directed with the ability to manage time, multiple priorities and other resources wisely.
