Job Summary
Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve lost time claims within settlement and reserving authority. Communicate with insureds, agents, brokers, attorneys, and underwriters to determine coverage, compensability, and liability. Administer timely indemnity and medical benefits while implementing Managed Care strategies and coordinating rehabilitation. Evaluate claim exposure, develop litigation plans with counsel, and attend mediations, arbitrations, and hearings. Maintain quality files, interact with State and Federal Boards, and mentor less experienced representatives. Keep up-to-date on State laws, company procedures, and medical terminology; participate in training programs and maintain knowledge of computer systems. Travel throughout States as required to handle assigned claims inventory.
Required Qualifications
- FL claims license
- experience
- valid driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Three years of workers' compensation lost time and medical only claim handling experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Computer skills, Word, Excel and Image Right
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Adaptable/flexible and self-directed with the ability to manage time, multiple priorities and other resources wisely
