Job Summary
Analyze coverage and coordinate investigations into loss facts for moderate complexity construction defect claims across multiple jurisdictions. Review policies and documents to confirm coverage, draft position letters, and evaluate liability to determine insured exposure. Handle litigated and non-litigated property damage claims up to $250,000, identify losses for SIU reporting, and set reserves within authority. Represent Markel in mediations and provide professional customer service while maintaining production standards. Requires a claims adjuster license and 2-3 years of commercial construction experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Must have or be eligible to receive claims adjuster license
- Successful completion of basic insurance courses or achievement of industry designation (INS, IEA, AIC, ARM, SCLA, CPCU)
- Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in commercial construction or equivalent combination of education and experience
- US Work Authorization required
