Job Summary

Demurrage/claims analyst role focusing on analysing charterparty and sale contracts, reviewing related demurrage and shipping costs, countering settlements with counterparts, and maintaining relationships with internal teams and external parties. Responsibilities include analysing charterparties, reviewing demurrage claims, negotiating settlements, reporting to management, and staying updated on industry developments. Requires 3+ years in demurrage/claims, polytechnic diploma or above, strong analytical and communication skills, ability to work under pressure, and openness to adopting AI tools. Located in Singapore with in-person work arrangement.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of working experience in demurrage/claims (ideally in both charterparty and sale contract claims) handling the whole spread of demurrage claims across the full value range
  • Tertiary education - Polytechnic Diploma and above
  • Analytical, numerate, hardworking and proactive
  • Open to embracing AI tools and technologies to drive efficiency in day-to-day tasks
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Able to work in a team and independently
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
  • Be comfortable undertaking new concepts and ideas associated with a fast-paced, dynamic business
  • Demonstrate the ability to clearly communicate accounting concepts to senior management and translate them in terms of the commercial business
  • Continually assess, challenge, and improve processes
  • Earn the trust of others by continuously demonstrating the ability to follow-through
  • Be curious, creative, and up for a challenge
  • Effectively communicate with other departments/ external counterparties (written and verbal)
