Job Summary
Paraeducator to support students in regular and special services classrooms under certificated staff supervision. Provide clerical assistance, crosswalk and recess supervision, and perform other duties as needed. Responsibilities include assisting in remediation and instructional tasks, supervising students to maintain a safe and positive learning environment, and completing required paperwork in accordance with state and district regulations. Must have relevant education credentials (high school diploma or equivalent plus AA degree or college credits), pass a background check, and be able to meet physical demands and training requirements. This role contributes to teamwork and professional relationships with students, parents, staff, and management.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have an AA degree OR 72 quarter college credits OR 48 semester college credits OR a passing score on the ETS test
- Must attach unofficial transcript proving AA degree or equivalent to application
- Must be able to perform the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to meet Physical Demands of the position
- Must pass a basic skills test
- Completion of Safe Schools Web Based Training within 30 days of hire and yearly thereafter
- Must pass a background check including employee paid fingerprinting
- Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and management
- Must be able to use basic computer programs to maintain records and read/respond to email
- Must demonstrate strong command of English for communication
