Job Summary
Paraeducator in Life Skills Classroom supporting students with significant physical disabilities; duties include instructional support, diapering, feeding or tube feeding, lifting and positioning, medication administration with training, documentation, and collaboration with the special education team. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and an AA degree or 72 quarter/48 semester credits (or passing ETS). Position involves lifting up to 50-100 lbs, supervision during recess and P.E., and working 6.5 hours/day, 180 days/year at Kennewick School District; located in Kennewick, Washington. CPI training and background checks are required.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have an AA degree OR 72 quarter college credits OR 48 semester college credits OR a passing score on the ETS test.
- Must attach unofficial transcript proving AA degree or equivalent to application.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to meet the Physical Demands of the position.
- Must pass a basic skills test.
- Completion of Safe Schools Web Based Training within 30 days of hire and yearly thereafter.
- Must pass a background check, which includes employee paid fingerprinting.
- CPI training must be obtained at the next available opportunity.
