CK: Special Education Assistant (Medically Fragile), 2.25 hrs./day Start date: Sept. 2026

Special Education Assistant for medically fragile students provides assistance to Special Education/medically fragile students in the classroom. He/she reports to the principal or teacher designated by the principal. Assists special education students with academics in regular education classroom and with medical needs (tracheotomies, colostomies, etc.). Adapts lessons and materials to fit needs of special education children, assists with physical challenges (wheelchairs, scribe, daily life skills, and communication devices), participates in planning meetings and IEPCs, maintains records and provides support for teachers, teaches or leads small group instruction, monitors behavior of students on behavior plans, accompanies students on field trips, and performs other duties as assigned. Must be available to report during the school year; background checks required. Minimum education is a high school diploma; medical certification preferred. Part-time schedule during the school year at Traverse City, MI.
