Job Summary
Lead the Police Communications Center team by assigning and supervising communication center employees to ensure day-to-day activities are completed efficiently and cost-effectively. Manage schedules to meet minimum staffing requirements while overseeing immediate compliance with procedures and general orders. Assist with on-the-job training for new employees, acting as a mentor to call-takers and dispatchers by providing regular feedback and coaching. Process Open Record Requests and assist in developing programs, goals, and objectives for the center. Conduct quality assurance reviews and provide input for performance evaluations, remedial training, and personnel actions. Requires flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays; must obtain Basic Communications Officer and Terminal Agency Coordinator certifications within six months. Salary range $47,518–$71,276.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Post Basic Communications Officer (BCO) certified
- Two years of 9-1-1 dispatch experience in a fast-paced environment
- High level verbal communications skills
- Certified through the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) as a Terminal Agency Coordinator within 6 months of employment
- Must be available for flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events
- Basic Communications Officer certification
- Certified Training Operator certification
- Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) certification
- Terminal Agency Coordinator certification
- Close vision
- Depth perception
- Ability to adjust focus (shift gaze from viewing a computer monitor at a distance of several feet to forms that are closer to compare)
- Background investigation clearance
- Criminal history records check clearance
- Physical examination clearance
- Drug/alcohol screen clearance
- Signed Awareness Statement issued by the GCIC concerning the dissemination of criminal history information
