Job Summary
Conduct Close-In Weapon System (CIWS) maintenance grooms and assessments onboard U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard vessels. Assist with testing system capabilities, including integration with multiple combat systems both pierside and atsea, and perform CIWS System Operational Verification Testing (SOVT). Provide technical, mechanical, operational, and tactical training to USN and USCG personnel while interfacing with Regional Maintenance Centers, Combat System Port Engineers, and land-based test sites. Deliver installation support for Counter Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS) and submit technical reports to Government stakeholders. Requires Secret clearance, 6+ years of hands-on CIWS experience, and ability to read schematics. Includes up to 50% continental US travel.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active Secret Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain one)
- Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining any of the Close-In Weapon System (CIWS) variants (Phalanx, SeaRAM, and LPWS)
- Knowledge of the mechanical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic, electronic and electrical systems associated with any of the three CIWS variants
- Ability to perform installation, removal, light off and check out, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of CIWS under the guidance of senior technicians
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and structural drawings and schematics
- Minimum 5 years of ISEA (in-service engineering activity), RMC (Regional Maintenance Center), or OEM (original equipment manufacturer) experience
- OCONUS travel

Desired Qualifications
- One or more NECs (Navy Enlisted Qualifications) related to CIWS Phalanx and/or SeaRAM
- Knowledge of DOD requirements, standards, and processes
- Strong communication skills
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft office products
