Job Summary

Civil/Traffic Project Engineer will independently apply extensive knowledge in civil/traffic engineering to assist a Project Manager in leading design and producing PS&E deliverables on complex projects. Responsibilities include reviewing project documents for conformity and quality assurance, handling invoicing, budget and schedule tracking, providing technical advisory support, assisting in proposal preparation, developing project scope and fee, and coordinating with staff. Required skills include advanced civil design for PS&E, CAD proficiency (Bentley MicroStation, AutoCAD), strong written and verbal communication, and experience with rail-related and roadway design elements such as rail grade crossings, signage, striping, utility coordination, traffic signals, detour planning, traffic staging, and ADA design. PE licensure in the home state is preferred. Travel to project sites and offices may be required. Benefits and career development opportunities are highlighted in the posting.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program
  • 8+ years prior experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) in home state
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in civil engineering design to produce PS&E deliverables
  • Experience with CAD and design software including Bentley MicroStation and AutoCAD
  • Experience on projects including rail grade crossings, roadway signage, roadway striping, utility coordination, traffic signals, detour planning, traffic staging, and/or ADA design
