Job Summary
Prepare drafting and design tasks using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, perform basic design calculations and analyses, and document quality control checks on all work. Carry out site inspections, calculate material quantities for cost estimates, and assist in preparing project specifications and contract documents. This full-time Burnaby role offers mentorship within the Transportation Major Projects Division, which manages major infrastructure like the Patullo Bridge Replacement and Fraser River Tunnel.
Required Qualifications
- 0 – 1+ years of experience on projects in a civil consulting engineering environment for Technologist role
- Completed Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field
- Eligible to register as a Trainee Registrant with ASTTBC or as a Technician/Technologist-in Training (T.T.) with ASET (must be done within first three months of employment)
- Valid Driver's License and own vehicle for site visits
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and clients
Desired Qualifications
- Previous hands-on experience working with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred
- Previous experience in stormwater management design, civil roadworks, and servicing design preferred
- Previous field experience preferred
