Job Summary
Hands-on Surveyor role delivering day-to-day construction/engineering surveying and set-out for civil, structural and earthworks projects in Hamilton. You’ll own survey calculations, manage digital survey data and records, prepare and manage digital models for construction (including machine control, point cloud and UAV data), operate survey instruments (GPS, scanners) and software, and perform as-built and conformance surveys in line with engineering and contract requirements. You’ll work with project managers, engineers and site crews to troubleshoot on-site issues, maintain equipment and files, and contribute to safe, accurate delivery across a mix of civil, structural and earthworks projects. Requires 3+ years’ NZ/Australia experience, confidence with Leica equipment and 12d (or equivalent) software, and an interest in machine control and UAVs; a practical, collaborative, safety-first mindset and the ability to take ownership of your work with team support.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience in New Zealand and/or Australia
- Growing or solid technical skills in construction surveying and engineering set-out across civil, structural and earthworks
- Confidence using Leica survey equipment and software (12d or equivalent), or a willingness to learn and get up to speed quickly
- Experience with, or strong interest in, machine control and UAVs
- A practical, solutions-focused mindset – you learn from mistakes and look for better ways of working
- A down-to-earth, collaborative style – you put safety first, and are keen to learn from others and share what you know
