Job Summary
Kiewit Southwest District seeks a Mid-Level Civil Superintendent based in Phoenix to supervise craft workers, coordinate with field engineering, manage safety, quality, schedules, and interface with subcontractors; travel across projects nationwide to build heavy civil transportation and water infrastructure, including earthwork, underground, and concrete work. Requirements include 5+ years in construction with 3+ years in supervision, strong leadership and communication, and a commitment to safety and ethics.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years’ work experience in the construction industry, with at least 3+ years in a supervisory role overseeing heavy civil activities
- Previous knowledge/experience in heavy civil construction required i.e. earthwork, underground and concrete
- Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements and jurisdictional issues, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings and other documents
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate craft performance
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives
- Ability to travel as needed
