Job Summary
Coordinate daily field operations for large civil projects, supervising subcontractors and craft workforce to ensure safety, schedule, and quality objectives are met. Implement safety programs, monitor performance, and provide leadership through regular feedback and coaching. Administer contracts, purchase orders, and change notices while identifying design deficiencies and resolving project issues collaboratively with the team. Maintain daily paperwork including field reports and safety inspections. Contribute to project schedule development and ensure sufficient manpower is provided. This role requires a Civil Superintendent with progressive heavy civil contracting experience, proficiency with MS Project, and the ability to work across city-based and rotational assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated, progressive experience in Heavy Civil Contracting as a Superintendent in Civil construction
- Direct field supervision of large civil projects
- Effective supervision, coordination and scheduling of construction activities
- Demonstrated leadership, field management and problem-solving skills
- Service and results-oriented mindset
- Ability to build and steward trust with a broad network of professional colleagues, subcontractors and team members
- Demonstrated competence in the areas of safety, workforce management, project execution, cost control, quality and administration
- Proactive problem-solving ability
- Sound knowledge of construction and building techniques
- Ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications
- Good computer skills and proficiency with MS Office including MS Project
- Willingness to work across both city-based and rotational project assignments
