Job Summary
Lead a civil substation design team for voltages up to 735 kV; oversee multi-disciplinary design tasks; mentor junior engineers; perform seismic, structural and civil design including foundations, trenches, roads, drainage, erosion control; prepare estimates, proposals, and technical reports; liaise with clients; manage budgets and timelines; strong English communication; experience with SAFI, S-Frame, STAAD, Civil 3D; 12+ years of experience; 3+ years in leadership; registered engineer in Canada (EGBC).
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience related to substation civil/structural design
- 3+ years experience as a team lead, manager or project manager
- University Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Registered member of a Professional Engineering association in Canada
- Eligibility to be registered as a member of the EGBC
- 3+ years experience with designs for electric Utilities in Western Canada
- Experience with design programs such as SAFI, S-Frame, STAAD, MFAD, LPile, Civil 3D
- Excellent oral and written communication in English; French an asset
- Construction management or site supervision experience is an asset
- Demonstrated skills in Project Management
