Job Summary
As a Civil/Structural Principal Engineer, you will lead engineering design and management, delivering high-quality technical solutions for Transmission and Distribution projects, particularly AIS/GIS HV Substations up to 400kV, and HVDC converter stations. This role requires extensive experience in producing complex designs compliant with engineering codes and standards, alongside strong leadership capabilities to guide a team. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree and a proven history in managing frontend and detailed design efforts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering client relationships. Strong analytical, communication, and time management skills are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Required Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Track record of leading teams in Front-End Engineering or Detailed Design
- Strong technical background in steel and reinforced concrete design
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and innovation skills
- Exceptional communication and organisational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
Desired Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer and a Member of ICE or IStructE
- Experience of discharging Principal Designer duties in accordance with CDM2015
- BP141 / TP141 HV Substation qualification (or equivalent)
- Current role as LCDAE or CDAE or equivalent knowledge
Additional Requirements
- Candidates must provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer for security clearance
