Job Summary
Independently prepare intermediate to advanced level specifications, engineering sketches, and analysis models for equipment components and structures in the energy and chemicals industries. Review and approve vendor drawings, manage project budgets and resources, and visit jobsites to evaluate site conditions and equipment compliance. Lead medium to large scope multi-discipline projects, resolve design issues, and serve as Engineer in Responsible Charge for PE sealing requirements. Manage client relationships, compile man-hour estimates, and adhere to strict health, safety, and environmental standards while driving cost-saving opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in the field of Civil/Structural Engineering
- preferably in the oil, gas, or petrochemical industry
- Professional Engineering license in resident state
- BS in civil or structural engineering from an ABET accredited university
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Word and Excel software
- knowledge of basic engineering software programs, such as STAAD or RISA
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos, all in English
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to comprehend and complete testing for Safety Orientations through either written, verbal or computer interaction, as required by tester
- Must possess basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Word and Excel software
- Ability to use basic engineering software programs, such as STAAD or RISA
- Must possess problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues involving multiple variables
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form
- Must have the ability to access all areas [of client jobsites] as required

- Must exercise caution and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as specified by CDI and the Clients
