Civil/Structural Engineer

Job Summary

Develop and stamp structural engineering packages for utilities, commercial, and industrial projects, including concrete and steel elements, foundations, and E-House installations. Prepare fabrication and shop drawings, analyze designs, and self-check engineering calculations while supporting RFPs and bid submissions. Lead junior engineers, review team work product, and provide on-site support during construction and installation. Collaborate with clients, sales teams, and multidisciplinary groups to progress designs and manage procurement and permitting. Requires 5-10 years of experience with Canadian design codes, professional engineering status in Alberta or another province, and proficiency in S-Frame, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.

Required Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience with a focus on civil and structural engineering
  • Must have hands on experience on Canadian design codes to complete designs of steel and/or concrete structures
  • Achieved professional engineering status in Alberta or other province
  • Must have a working knowledge and ability to use programs such as structural design software S-Frame & drafting software AutoCAD and review software like Navisworks
  • Must have industrial Canadian experience
  • Strong project management capability with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and on budget
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to work with people at all levels including project stakeholders and clients
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and deliverables on an ongoing basis
  • Ability and willingness to travel to client sites and project locations on an as-needed basis to support design reviews, site visits, and construction activities

Desired Qualifications

  • Working knowledge on Micro-station will be an asset
  • Experience in T&D industry will be asset
  • Familiarity with CSA, NBC, and provincial building codes and industry standards
