Civil/ Structural Engineer

Job Summary
Perform engineering assessments using MathCAD and FEA tools (e.g., Pipe Stress, GTSTRUDL, ANSYS). Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and permit requirements. Develop designs across all stages (conceptual, preliminary, and detailed) and prepare technical specifications. Deliver engineering outputs on time and within budget, including estimates and proposal write-ups. Review, verify, and ensure quality and accuracy of engineering work in line with QA programs. Support team effectiveness through mentoring junior staff, collaborating with stakeholders, and participating in reviews and site walkdowns. The role also emphasizes site walkdowns and a strong understanding of mechanical/process systems relevant to nuclear, oil & gas, or heavy industries, with a path to Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- 5–10 years of relevant design/analysis experience in nuclear, oil & gas, or heavy industries
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in Ontario is preferred
- Experience with MathCAD and FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, GTSTRUDL, Pipe Stress)
- Strong understanding of mechanical/process systems, piping, pressure boundary work, and structural assessments
- Site experience including plant walkdowns
- Willingness to qualify as a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW)
