Civil - Skilled Labourer

Civil - Skilled Labourer supports civil construction operations related to underground utilities, roadworks, and site development. Responsibilities include assisting operators, pipelayers and forepersons; installing underground utilities including storm, sanitary and water systems; trench preparation, bedding and backfilling; pipe placement and manhole, catch basins, hydrants, and valves installation; hand excavation around utilities; compaction, grading and site cleanup; following utility locates and OH&S regulations; participating in toolbox talks and hazard assessments. Certifications listed include Confined Space Awareness, First Aid/CPR, WHMIS, Trench Safety/Shoring, Fall Protection, and Rigging. Requires 2+ years of civil construction or underground utilities experience; physical outdoor work in varied conditions; ability to read basic construction drawings; strong work ethic and teamwork.
