Civil Project Manager, Transportation

Job Summary

Manage design and delivery of transportation projects in a profitable manner, overseeing technical aspects and supervising engineers. Develop work plans, budget projections, and milestones to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while completing monthly accounting and invoicing. Coordinate schedules for multiple concurrent projects, interpret business metrics, and resolve design conflicts and field construction issues. Lead business development activities, write proposals, and negotiate contract terms while representing the firm with government agencies and subconsultants. Grow and mentor staff through training and relationship building. Requires PE licensure in Wisconsin and 8+ years of experience; full-time role with potential national travel.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of roadway design, DOT, and project management experience supporting design projects
  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in WI (or capable of obtaining within 6 months)
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in design
  • This position may require travel to project sites and other Westwood offices throughout the United States

  • Extensive knowledge of geometric design and other related design elements
  • Knowledge and experience with the full roadway project lifecycle from preliminary studies through final design
  • General knowledge of construction with experience providing construction phase services
  • Track record of successfully winning and delivering projects
  • Experience in accounts receivable, invoicing, and overall duties involved in managing a design team
  • Experience preparing proposals, scopes of work and qualification packages
  • Experience developing and implementing marketing pursuit strategies
  • Ability to develop relationships with peers, clients, and public agency staff
  • Ability to coach and motivate others
