Job Summary
Coordinate and oversee civil engineering design and construction phases of FAA/state-funded airport projects; assign and review work of engineers, consultants, and staff; ensure compliance with FAA standards and regulations; prepare specifications, bid documents, contracts, and permit applications; conduct cost analyses, RFPs, and grant applications; lead pre-bid/construction meetings; perform site visits and present findings at Authority/Commission meetings; manage budgets, QA testing, change orders, and final grant closeouts; mentor staff engineers and coordinate with clients, contractors, and subconsultants. Core skills include project leadership, contract administration, design review, budgeting, and extensive knowledge of civil/airport project delivery and related software.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
- Licensed professional engineer in the state of North Carolina/South Carolina, or ability to obtain reciprocity within 3 months
- Ten years minimum of engineering experience in the design or construction phases of civil engineering projects, preferably airport projects
