Civil Project Coordinator – Mining and Heavy Infrastructure

Job Summary
Support the Project Manager in day-to-day execution of mining-related projects by acting as the coordination link between design teams, field/construction teams, and the Project Manager. Track project schedules, deliverables, and key milestones to ensure work stays on track while maintaining action item logs, decision trackers, and progress reports. Coordinate with internal discipline teams and contractors to review drawings, specifications, and technical documents, responding to RFIs and resolving site issues. Monitor field progress, identify risks, and escalate early to the Project Manager. Attend coordination meetings, document minutes, and track follow-up actions. Assist with change management processes and maintain organized project documentation. Promote safety, quality, and compliance with project requirements and standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- 3–8 years of experience in civil engineering projects
- Experience working on projects involving roads, earthworks, drainage, culverts, or water management systems
- Strong understanding of project delivery processes (design, procurement, and construction phases)
- Proven ability to coordinate between multiple stakeholders (design teams, contractors, and clients)
- Familiarity with construction practices and field execution in a mining or infrastructure environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to track and manage project data (schedules, action items, RFIs, deliverables)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with common project tools (e.g., Excel, scheduling software, document control systems)
- Willingness to spend time in both office and field environments as required
Desired Qualifications
- EIT or P.Eng. designation (or working toward it)
- Experience in mining or heavy infrastructure (implied by 'preferably' in the experience bullet)
- Practical, problem-solving mindset with a strong focus on execution and follow-through
