Job Summary

Design roadway, storm water, and sanitary sewer systems, including grading, drainage, and bridge components for municipal projects. Prepare specifications, conduct permitting and code research, and submit permit applications while coordinating utilities and managing ROW acquisitions. Utilize Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling software to execute project design and analysis. Manage project scope, schedule, and budget for public sector initiatives with a focus on construction administration.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Alabama Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain reciprocity
  • 5 to 10 years' experience of increasing levels of project and client responsibilities for public sector projects
  • A successful track record of managing projects, including scope, schedule and budget
  • Construction administration experience in municipal work
  • Strong verbal and report writing skills
  • Knowledge of Alabama Department of Transportation specifications, policies, and procedures
  • Use software such as Revit, GIS, Civil 3D, AutoCAD or MicroStation with Inroads and Bluebeam to assist in project design and analysis
  • StormCAD, PondPack, SewerGEMS, for stormwater modeling
  • Traffic Modeling
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

  • Strong technical skills in hydraulic modeling and restrained joint pipe design software

  • Experience with Bridge Design Process

  • Experience with Pole Foundations
  • Experience with Uniform Act Requirements for ROW Acquisitions
  • Experience with Utility Coordination
