Job Summary
Manage day-to-day case operations from intake through resolution, drafting pleadings, discovery, and pretrial filings while escalating material issues to partners. Coordinate staff including nurses, paralegals, and secretaries to ensure timely task execution and organize expert packets. Attend and cover depositions, prepare detailed reports, and conduct calls with expert witnesses to assist with strategy. Prepare for trial by organizing exhibit and witness preparation, maintaining trial notebooks, and participating in courtroom appearances. Requires active Georgia licensure and 3-5 years of defense experience. The firm offers family-friendly policies, reasonable billable hours, and generous benefits near Emory.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in medical malpractice and/or civil litigation on the defense side
- Proven experience drafting pleadings, managing discovery, taking/defending depositions, and court appearances
- Experience working with expert witnesses and analyzing medical records
- Prior trial preparation and courtroom experience (state and federal) is a MUST
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage a high-volume docket with strong attention to detail and deadlines
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Must be actively licensed in good standing in the State of Georgia
