Job Summary
Manage civil litigation cases through all phases with guidance from experienced attorneys. Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and other litigation documents. Conduct legal research and prepare thorough legal analysis. Participate in case strategy, settlement negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation. Attend court appearances, depositions, hearings, and client meetings. Communicate professionally with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel. Maintain accurate billing records while meeting annual billable hour expectations. Collaborate with attorneys on complex litigation matters while delivering exceptional client service. This on-site role in Woodland Hills, California, offers mentorship from accomplished litigators and quarterly performance-based bonuses.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active California Bar license in good standing
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ year of litigation experience strongly preferred
- Insurance defense, civil litigation, personal injury, construction defect, or employment litigation experience is a plus
- Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment
- Experience tracking billable hours is highly desirable
