Civil Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Summary
Operate heavy equipment including blade, dozer, loader, scraper, forklift, bobcat, roller, backhoe, excavator, and tractor independently on solar field construction projects. Perform routine maintenance such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning while following prescribed safety regulations and interpreting operating manuals. Provide timely documentation of field decisions and production tracking. This hands-on role requires working outdoors in extreme weather conditions, lifting 50+ pounds, and standing or walking for extended periods. Candidates must possess basic mathematical skills, ability to read load charts, and a strong commitment to teamwork and safety.
Required Qualifications
- GED or equivalent education
- Minimum 1 year experience
- Equipment certifications as required
- Current driver's license of proper class and necessary endorsements as required by law
- Ability to lift 50+ pound equipment, maneuvering them into their proper places
- Able to stand or walk for extended periods of time
- Able to follow precise instruction and receive feedback
- Candidates must be able to work in all weather conditions, as safety permits
- This position requires working outdoors in various, often extreme weather conditions including rain, snow, heat, cold, etc
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working on construction projects preferred
