Job Summary
Lead civil construction crews on utility-scale solar projects, overseeing site grading, mass excavation, road construction, and equipment pad preparation. Coordinate daily production planning, heavy equipment operations, and survey verification while managing quantity tracking and production reporting. Conduct safety meetings, enforce SWPPP compliance, and resolve field issues to maintain schedule adherence and quality standards. Provide mentorship on civil construction best practices and GPS machine control. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, requiring the ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform repetitive physical tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Good driving record
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Procore experience
- Experience with quantity tracking, production reporting, and quantity claiming
- Advanced understanding of GPS machine control and survey systems for dozers, graders, excavators, and other heavy equipment
- Strong knowledge of grading, drainage, SWPPP, and civil construction best practices
- Proven leadership experience managing crews and coordinating field operations
- Ability to effectively communicate with project management, survey personnel, subcontractors, and field teams
- Strong organizational skills with a focus on safety, productivity, quality control, and schedule adherence
- Able to lift 50+ pounds and maneuver materials into place
- Able to perform repetitive physical activities including stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, standing, and walking for extended periods
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience working on utility-scale solar construction projects
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others

- Must be able to train and mentor others on all aspects of civil construction, including grading, drainage, SWPPP compliance, equipment operations, production tracking, and quality standards
- Must be able to lead multiple civil crews while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork
- Must be able to coordinate daily activities with Project Management, Superintendents, Survey, QA/QC, and subcontractors
- Must be able to ensure work is completed according to project schedules, plans, and specifications
- Must be able to monitor production rates and proactively resolve field issues impacting schedule or productivity
- Must be able to conduct daily safety meetings, pre-task planning, and job hazard analyses
- Must be able to maintain accurate production reports, quantity tracking, and daily field documentation
- Must be able to ensure all work complies with project quality standards and environmental requirements
- Must be able to coordinate equipment utilization and manpower to maximize efficiency
- Must be able to provide timely documentation of field decisions, Tier Boards, production tracking, quantity reporting, and daily progress updates
- Must be able to work outdoors in varying and extreme weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, wind, and snow, as safety permits
- Must be able to work in environments with loud noise, dust, debris, heavy equipment, and other construction-related hazards
- Must be able to model excellence in safety, quality, attendance, productivity, and teamwork

Desired Qualifications
- Additional civil construction, heavy equipment, or supervisory certifications
- Previous experience as a Civil Foreman or Civil General Foreman on utility-scale solar, renewable energy, or heavy civil construction projects
- Experience managing grading, drainage, SWPPP, road construction, and earthwork operations
- Knowledge of production planning, quantity tracking, and project scheduling
- Experience utilizing GPS machine control technology and coordinating with survey teams
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety requirements and environmental compliance
