Job Summary
The Field Inspector is a contracted role based in Lytton, BC for ~18 months supporting an active project. Responsibilities include performing field inspections, reviewing municipal engineering design drawings and correspondence for land development and capital works, preparing daily/weekly/monthly inspection reports, managing monthly progress payments and LC reductions, liaising with clients, municipal staff, contractors and residents, and assisting with construction administration and documentation such as as-constructed drawings. The role requires coordinating with the engineering department, understanding scope per engineering drawings and contract obligations, and providing timely responses to internal and external stakeholders. Accommodation and mileage reimbursement are provided for the duration of the assignment. Effective multi-project management, strong communication, and adherence to municipal standards are essential.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a civil construction environment is preferred
- Experience with MMCD contracts is an asset
- Experience with First Nations communities and organizations is an asset
- Registered or qualified to register as a Technician or Technologist with ASTTBC is an asset
- Knowledge of local municipal construction standards and specifications
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, positive attitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and manage time effectively
- Valid Provincial Driver’s License with clean driving abstract
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software (MS Office, Internet applications)
