Job Summary
Civil Field Engineer to lead on-site investigations, perform specialized inspections (soils, concrete, masonry, steel), conduct geotechnical investigations (test borings/pit observations) with laboratory analysis, and prepare detailed reports. Collaborates with Senior Professional Engineers to execute field and technical tasks, coordinates and manages projects related to Special Inspections and Construction Materials Testing, implements QA protocols, and adheres to codes and best practices in field and laboratory settings. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification; proficient in MS Office; strong interpersonal and organizational skills; valid driver’s license with ability to travel to project sites. Salary range $24-$30/hour (annualized to $49,920–$62,400) with full-time benefits; location is East Syracuse, NY, on-site with travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline
- Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and reporting
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with managers, team members, and clients
- Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple priorities efficiently
