Job Summary
Civil Field Engineer for Bechtel LNG construction project in Port Arthur, TX. Responsible for providing technical assistance, direction, and support to field supervision for construction and installation activities, leading preparation of construction drawings and schedules, design of temporary construction facilities, and ensuring 'as built' drawings and other job plans are produced. Manages field purchases and quantity takeoffs, verifies commodities in tracking systems, and upholds zero-accident safety philosophy. Requires LNG construction site experience, heavy industrial direct-hire background, ability to coordinate inspections and submittals, and strong communication and problem-solving skills. Emphasizes learning, system turnover coordination, and coordination with STR/subcontractors, with a focus on field execution and packaging of work for the project. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or international equivalent)
- 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
- Construction experience assigned to a construction site
- Experience managing technical services subcontracts
- Experience on an LNG construction site especially along the U.S. Gulf Coast
- Heavy industrial direct hire construction experience commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken
- Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes
- Displays effective communications skills crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans clearly
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications
- Excellent problem-solving ability
- Experience in excavation, backfill, ditches, culverts, and other earthworks activities
